Systems and Financial Reporting Analyst

Job Summary:
We are seeking a full-time Systems and Financial Reporting Analyst with strong Python scripting skills and a solid understanding of data systems and reporting tools. This role focuses on maintaining and improving internal systems, building automated processes, and supporting financial and operational reporting. The ideal candidate will be technically inclined, proactive in solving data-related issues, and comfortable working with both technical tools and business users.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain Python scripts to automate data processing, reporting tasks, and system workflows.
  • Support and manage small to mid-sized databases, including writing queries and maintaining data accuracy.
  • Assist in managing internal systems and servers, performing basic setup and troubleshooting tasks.
  • Create and support automated reports and dashboards using Excel, Power BI, and similar tools.
  • Build and maintain Excel-based tools, including macros and VBA scripts, to streamline recurring processes.
  • Collaborate with finance and operations teams to understand reporting needs and deliver data solutions.
  • Monitor system performance and data workflows to ensure reliability and efficiency.
  • Help maintain good security and access controls across data and reporting systems.

Qualifications:

  • Solid experience with Python for scripting, automation, and basic data management.
  • Familiarity with SQL for querying and maintaining relational databases.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions, pivot tables, and VBA macros.
  • Experience with Power BI, Power Query, or similar tools for visual reporting.
  • Understanding basic server management tasks, especially in a Windows environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical users.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience developing reports for finance or business operations.
  • Background in system or database administration, even at a junior level.
  • Degree or coursework in computer science, data analytics, or a related field.
  • Some Accounting knowledge

Fall or Winter Editorial Paid Internship Available:

This paid position will give you experience in acquiring and developing books on topics such as Asian literature, cooking, crafts, language learning and more. You will work with experienced editors on all stages of the publication process.

Internship Duties:

  • Researching potential acquisitions
  • Participating in the creation of planned titles
  • Assisting in editing and proofreading manuscripts
  • Assisting in book cover development
  • Researching images

Required Skills:

  • Strong time management, communication and organizational skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Interest in the publishing industry
  • Experience with writing or editing is a plus
