About the Author:
Aidan Kaplan is Assistant Instructional Professor of Arabic at the University of Chicago. He holds degrees in Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Chicago, Teaching Arabic as a Foreign Language (TAFL) from Middlebury's Arabic School, and Linguistics from Yale College. His research interests include linguistic variation in Arabic, the work of the author Ahmad Faris al-Shidyaq and pedagogy in the language classroom.
