In search of a lost father and of a path of light connecting us to faraway worlds.Like so many dreamers of her generation, Laura, a young woman from Florence, travels to the heart of Africa in search of an authentic life, far from the hypocrisies of the modern world. There she meets Laconi, a young Indonesian dressed like a prince, with piercing eyes that belong to the wild. Together they begin a journey that will change everything.
Their daughter Geia is born in the lush heart of Indonesia, where her parents try to build a life together. But economic hardships bring them back to Italy's industrial, middle-class world. Geia grows up far from her father's homeland, always feeling the pull of something lost.
Years later, Geia's search to understand her origins becomes a journey of courage, memory, and reconciliation. It leads her back to her roots and to a mystical lineage in which her father's family is said to descend from tigers—creatures who, in an ancient time when humans and wild beasts lived as one, shared the same blood and spirit.
A vivid portrait of a generation that dreamed of changing the world, this is the true story of a woman who rediscovers her identity through her father and her past. Written in a voice as pure as spring water and as fragrant as frangipani, it carries us deep into the forest, to the source of the great river where everything begins—and can begin again.
