Kerry was the co-founder of the nonprofit Oklahoma State Sugar Art Show and served for several years as the International Publicity Director for the annual ICES show (the main cake decorating exhibition in the US). Kerry was instrumental in the creation of The Grand National Wedding Cake Competition, founded in 1996, and its subsequent collaboration with
Food Network TV where the event is aired in the United States and 150 nations worldwide. In 2004, Kerry was inducted into the International Cake and Sugarcraft Hall of Fame in Washington, DC.
